ATSAKEEPER GUIDE SERVICE

Captain Eric Matland

Hello. I'm Capt. Eric Matland and I invite you to join me on the Connecticut River and nearby waters. This has been an eventful season at Atsakeeper, including serving as personal tour guide to Jimmy Houston of Outdoors of ESPN. I also worked with host, Rich Johnson filming an episode of The Fishing Line, the episode titled: "Flats Fishing for Stripers on the Connecticut River" is due to air this fall.
One of my goals with Atsakeeper is to show my clients a different view of the Connecticut River than they would see from the window of their car driving down Rt. 91. The river, whether in the Hartford area, or where it meets Long Island Sound in Old Saybrook, CT - is a National Landmark and is vast in natural history. The view from the water will give you a new perspective of the river.
On the river, you'll hear cries of the Osprey fill the air in the early morning, and the spring turkey gobble from the distant ridges and river flats. You will bear witness the majestic Bald Eagle as she snatches River Herring from the water's surface and then glides back to her nest to feed the young-of-the-year.
Stripers, Small & Largemouth Bass, along with Pike are all part of the experience when you charter with Atsakeeper Guide Service. You'll enjoy a day's fishing from the comfort of a twenty two- foot
2005 Skeeter ZX22 Bay boat, powered by a Yamaha 250 HDPI VMAX and a Minn Kota trolling motor and Lowrance electronics.
